Dental Implants Are The Ideal Solution For Replacing Missing Teeth
Modern dental implants look and function like natural teeth. They can also support crowns, bridges and dentures. Replacing missing teeth with implants will preserve facial structure and prevent potential bone loss, teeth shifting, and gum disease caused by missing teeth.
Our experienced in-house implantology team consists of an oral surgeon, a periodontist, and a prosthodontist under one roof. In most of the cases, we can complete both single-tooth and full-mouth implants in a single sitting or within 72 hours.
We have the technology and expertise to place and load new implants or salvage failing implants.
Is gum disease loosening your implant? Did you bite something hard and break the implant screw or prosthesis? Don't worry. Schedule an appointment and we'll fix it for you.
How Do Implants Work?
A dental implant is usually done in 2 phases; the surgical and the restorative. These involve:
Removal of the damaged tooth or preparation of the jawbone
Placement of a small biocompatible titanium screw (implant) that will mimic the tooth root
Optional use of a temporary crown/bridge or removable denture for cosmetic purposes
Time gap for the implant to integrate with the surrounding bone
Placement of abutment/coping, after which an impression is made to fabricate the prosthesis
Finally, loading of the prosthesis and adjusting for a comfortable fit
Caring For Your Implants
Implants are designed to last for decades. However, you will need to exercise some basic caution to protect them:
Implants do not get cavities, but daily brushing and flossing is essential to maintain gum and overall dental health.
If you experience any pain, swelling or inflammation, immediately contact your dentist.
Get a night guard if you grind your teeth when you sleep.
Get your implants checked and cleaned every 6 months.
Implant Treatment Options
Implant treatment options will vary based on the number of missing teeth that need replacement. A single dental implant can support more than one tooth replacement. Our in-house implantologist will carefully assess your suitability based on 3D imaging of your jawbone before coming up with a treatment plan.
